Our way of telling friends and family that there was a bun in the oven!
January 2011
Now that the cat was out of the bag, so to speak, we started getting the spare bedroom ready for the new addition of the family. This included moving my closet to our bedroom and Jim's closet to the office. We have way too many clothes to share one at the moment. It seems that the baby is heading down this path too, because the closet is quickly filling up! Would you expect anything less?? I had to switch doctors because my OB no longer sees women after the three month mark. We met with a new doctor this month and enjoyed how helpful everyone was. We got to hear little Rustman's heartbeat. Honestly, I could listen to that sound every day, all day. Everything was going well for both the baby and myself. At this appointment we set up our February appointment. At this appointment we would find out the sex of the baby :)
February 2011
February 9th could not come soon enough!! I was filled with excitement and a nervousness I couldn't describe. I knew that finding out the sex would make it seem 100 times more real! Jim and I both went in thinking it was going to be a boy. His mom had all boys and my mom had two boys out of her three children. I did not have a preference, just as long as the little one was healthy. Our sonographer knew right away what it was, but wanted to explore further. It is truly amazing what technology can do these days. We could see everything! All four chambers of the heart were working. We could see the kidneys, the bladder, and all 10 fingers and toes. The sonographer said that little Rustman was measuring perfectly for 20 weeks. The big news came that we were having a GIRL!! Jim was a little shocked and asked if she was sure! I think at this point, he thought he was doomed. I was hard enough to handle, but putting a mini-me in the mix, I think he thought he was going to have his hands full! I know that he is going to be the most protective daddy and that our little girl is going to have him wrapped around her little finger. From here the preparation of operation nursery went into full effect.
